Many employers offer group life insurance as part of their benefits package. Typically, it’s either fully paid by the employer or offered at a reduced rate to the employee. Employers usually set a limit on no-cost group life coverage, that is, insurance supplied by the employer. Limits range anywhere between $5,000 and $20,000. They sometimes vary by the level of your position and length of time with the company. The level of coverage may also be a percentage of your salary. Group Life insurance is attractive to many people, as it does not require a medical exam.
